Denise Bryce

Denise has served with SIL Global for over seven years and currently works as a Research Assistant and Archivist with the Global Sign Languages Team (GSLT).

She contributes to a shared database of all known sign language Bible translations, including children’s stories, dramas, and other formats. This resource supports the work of a dozen partner organizations working in sign languages and also feeds into ProgressBible, which helps assess the scripture needs across the world’s languages.

Denise also contributes to Ethnologue, SIL’s encyclopedia of the world’s languages, and to ScriptureEarth, which provides access to scripture in thousands of languages. When she identifies missing content, she submits updates to improve the accuracy and completeness of these platforms. Her contributions to the 28th edition of Ethnologue (2025) were acknowledged alongside those of other field researchers.

As an archivist, Denise stewards the records of a 70-year linguistics training program that was jointly run by SIL and the University of North Dakota (SIL-UND). She manages these materials in both SIL’s and UND’s archives.

In a recent development, Denise was entrusted with access to the Digital Bible Library on behalf of the GSLT. This expands her research capabilities and allows her to submit materials for broader use. The Digital Bible Library is a central repository that supports scripture engagement through its partner organizations, such as the YouVersion Bible app.

Denise would be grateful for your prayers and, as you're able, your financial support as she serves the Lord by supporting sign language translation work worldwide.
