Denise Bryce
For the last six years Denise has been serving with SIL International (sil.org) as an administrative assistant. Denise’s supervisor is a noted linguist, project manager and more. Denise has done a variety of things, from proofreading the 170-page help file of software for creating dictionaries for sign languages, to serving as a receptionist for the linguistics training program called SIL-UND, to archiving the 70 years’ worth of scholarly materials produced through SIL-UND, and more.Denise has recently transferred to the Global Sign Languages Team (GSLT), a different department within SIL. Her new title is "Research Assistant and Archivist." Her duties include reading scholarly books on the world’s sign languages, looking for quotes to excerpt. Those quotes go into two places: 1) Ethnologue, the encyclopedia published by SIL (ethnologue.com). 2) A new database shared between a dozen organizations which work with sign languages. She's also responsible for the GSLT archives, as well as continuing her responsibilities for the SIL-UND archives.Denise would appreciate your prayer and financial support as she serves the Lord by supporting sign language translation work worldwide.
