We’re John and Etsuko Martin. Our life’s calling is sharing Jesus together 
with the Lord and with those of you He’s calling to join us in the task, too.

Our Passions

• Knowing our loving and gracious Lord better and walking with Him
• Learning and praying
• Seeking to authentically engage with other people so perhaps they might see, know, and follow the Lord as well. The same Lord who “so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16), who is revealing Himself through creation and who is not far from any of us (Romans 1:18-20; Acts 17:24-27), who wants everyone to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (I Tim. 2:3-5)
• Encouraging fellow Jesus followers and different communities of Jesus followers in the US and overseas through listening care, prayer, correspondence, and visiting and worshiping together
• Continuing our ministry in Japan even while we’re away from Japan and returning to minister “in person,” as we are able
• Exploring additional ministry opportunities as well as finding opportunities to empower and connect people with other people and places where their God-given interests and gifts can be developed further and used for the Lord’s glory
• Especially for John, nurturing and working with plants, joining with the Creator of all creation and stewarding a bit of His creation, contemplating who He is and kindly using what He’s created to help provide for our and others’ needs.

Our family moved to Japan in 2002 and since that time we’ve done a variety of things to connect with people there and, hopefully, helped them see the living Lord, the One who has done everything so that they can know and come to Him.

Though we’ve returned to the US for a time, we are still ministering to the Japanese through the internet, who are the world’s second-largest people group that are unreached with the Gospel. During this challenging time, we’re seeing the Lord providing for us through the broadening of our ministry, leading us to a US home and ministry base, and giving us a new mission support agency, MAP Global.

We’re grateful to the Lord for the gifts He’s given us and the experiences He’s graciously led us through over the years. We’re especially grateful for the team of individuals and churches who help “send” us (Romans 10:15). Our sending team members are Jesus followers from many denominations and Christian groups. They pray for us and for those who we desperately want to see and know the Lord. They give funds for our work, encourage us, and also help us practically in so many ways. We’re so thankful for each one of them.
